The Counts’ Castle is the only medieval fortress left in Flanders! Be fascinated by the architecture and feel like a knight on top of the master tower! Our guide will disclose the eventful history of the Counts’ Castle, which at some time served as a prison, barracks, court of justice and even as a textile factory. Inside you will find impressive halls and two museums. In the Museum of Weapons you will discover a unique collection of weapons, among which crossbows, coats of armour, daggers … In the Museum of Torture you can see how suspects were forced to confess.
