From World Exhibition 1913 to Millionaires’ Quarter

Walking through the fanciest neighbourhood of Ghent

Just outside the centre, behind Saint-Peter Station, you wil find a number of impressive country houses from the interbellum. Discover the Millionaires’ Quarter, once the location of the famous World Exhibition of 1913.

More about this tour

Did you know that the Millionaires’ Quarter was once the location of the famous World Exhibition of 1913? After the exhibition a new residential area was created here, affordable by the jet set only. The result – which is meanwhile a protected city view – is by all means spectacular: a set of splendid villas side by side in a large mix of building styles, from classic and art deco to cubist and modernistic.
